前言

2014年2月，IB组织出版了对于第四学科组（group 4）——科学学科（science）的考核新大纲，涉及化学，物理，生物三门学科，并将于2016年5月正式对新大纲进行次全球统考（first assessment 2016）。化学学科新大纲对原来的SL和HL教学内容进行了调整，并将原来列为选修的现代分析化学（modern analytical chemistry）和环境化学（environmental chemistry）穿插到了核心课程（core & additional higher level）中。新大纲中对于考核的要求由原来的逐条仔细罗列改为了以理解（understanding）和应用（application）为主的笼统的概述。新大纲所涉及的内容难度也比原大纲有所上升。

本书是以新大纲和新版本教材为依据，内容紧密配合考核要求，专为IBDP（diploma program）11和12年级选修化学SL（standard level）和HL（higher level）的学生精心设计编写，旨在帮助学生更好地适应新大纲的学习，把握章节的重点和难点，轻松应对全球统考。
